Measuring Yourself

If you intend to order by phone fax or mail then print this page and use it to record your measurements.

Relax and don't pull the tape too tight. You want to measure your normal, comfortable posture.

Begin by wearing either a bra or a thin T-shirt.

1. Wrap the tape around your chest, at the fullest point, usually at the nipples, to measure your bust.(picture)
2. Tell us what Bra size you buy ie. 34B (skip this if you don't wear one!)
3. Measure your ribs. This is taken at the place where your bra band rests, directly below where your breast begins or at the base of the pectoral muscle.(picture)
4. Measure the distance between this point and your waistline.(picture)
5. Measure your waist, tie a string around your waist. This is your normal waistline. Be sure that this is where your body compresses the most - on Women this is usually about two inches above the navel, while on Men it is generally directly at the navel.(picture)
6. Measure your hips at 3" below your waistline.(picture)
7. Measure your hips at 5" below your waistline.
8. Measure from your bust to your waistline.(picture)
9. Decide where you would like the top of the corset to come up to on your chest AT THE CENTER FRONT. Mark your skin here with a tiny dot with the pen. Measure from this point straight down to your waist.(picture)
  • Sweetheart styles, Pointed Victorian, Arch Rival and the Aziza, this is usually at the top of the sternum.
  • Baroque, Amazon and Empress, place your hand on your breast and press firmly to simulate corset support as these styles lift your bust considerably. The corset top is usually a couple of inches above the sternum.
  • Underbust Edwardian and Victorian styles, this is usually at the bottom of the sternum.
10. Decide where you would like the top of the corset to come up to on your chest AT THE SIDE FRONT (directly above the nipple.) Mark your skin here with a tiny dot with the pen. Measure from this point straight down to your waist.(picture)
  • Sweetheart styles and the Aziza, this is usually two to four inches above the nipple depending on your breast size.
  • Baroque, Amazon and Empress, place your hand on your breast and press firmly to simulate corset support as these styles lift your bust considerably. The corset top is usually a couple of inches above the sternum.
  • Underbust Edwardian and Victorian, Pointed Victorian, Arch Rival and Waist Cincher, this is usually at the bottom of your bra underwire or pectoral muscle.
11. For all styles, measure from your waistline to the point at which you would like the bottom point of the corset at center front. We recommend this be at your bikini line. Hold the tape measure in place and sit down, making sure that the corset will allow you to do this comfortably.(picture)
12. How much waist reduction would you like your corset to provide? Three to four inches smaller is customary.
13. Stand up straight and measure from your heel to the top of your head.
14. Hold the tape measure at your waistline at your back and bring the tape over your shoulder to your waistline in the front.(picture)
