Alexandra came to us with a very specific request. She wanted the gown she
imagined that Snow White would have worn on her wedding day. She also wanted
to be able to remove pieces of her ensemble as the evening went on.
Her train, made of silk brocade that had been set aside by her mother years
before, was the first thing to come off, followed by her gown. Under this
gown which was made of lightsilk taffeta and tulle and trimmed with silk
flowers, Alexandra wore a lightweight silk matlassè dress that was cut
partially on the bias as it was a re-creation of a vintage piece from the
early 1930s. She and her husband danced the night away to the sounds of the
Royal Jazz Society Orchestra.
